Today we had four big climbs, but luckily they were all followed by a long downhill. The scenery actually started to get prettier today; the landscape seems to be turning more mountainous and somewhat forested vs full on desert. There were also some clouds today that provided us with some shade.
During the last climb of the day I ended up getting my first flat tire of the trip. It was odd because I could not find anything that could have caused it. I got it fixed up pretty quick and was back on the road without losing too much time.
Tonight we are spending at a KOA right outside of Ely, Nevada. Tomorrow we change course and head 100 miles south to Pioche to avoid some of the bigger climbs east of Ely. We are supposed to have a headwind so it could be quite a long day tomorrow. I will keep you posted.
