Day 61 (66 miles) South Boston to Lawrenceville, VA
Today was a 60 mile day, but at this point that mileage seems short. We rode along Highway 58, making good time over the rolling hills of southeastern Virginia. We arrived in the town of Lawrenceville around lunchtime and soon had settled in. It was a relaxing afternoon, which was topped off with an awesome lasagna dinner made by Troop 221. Meeting with the scouts and telling them about our experiences served as a reflection for us during our final days of this trip. Although we were telling these stories to strangers, it felt as if we were recounting our experiences to each other and fondly looking back on all the great memories we have made on this trip of a lifetime.
Day 62 (55 miles) Lawrenceville to Franklin, VA
Today we rode 55 miles from Lawrenceville to Franklin. Although we traveled fast we took a few long stops. A Boy's Life photographer was set to meet us in Lawrenceville at 2pm to film us riding in. We took long breaks, and stopped for lunch at Dairy Queen, to time our arrival. We then spent the night at the YMCA in Franklin where we prepared for the next day and the epic conclusion to our ride across America.
